I Am Boxer Guk Seung-jun vs Lee Chae-hyun, The Final Two Are Set

I Am Boxer has confirmed its finalists, sending viewers’ hearts racing toward the championship showdown.

In episode 9, which aired on the 16th, “Body Killer” Guk Seung-jun and “Prince” Lee Chae-hyun secured their tickets to the final after a razor-thin semifinal round. With the championship belt, a prize of 300 million won, and a luxury flagship SUV on the line, anticipation is building over who will emerge as the ultimate winner.

The semifinals featured “Pretty Boy” Jo Hyun-jae, “Body Killer” Guk Seung-jun, “Prince” Lee Chae-hyun, and “Thunder” Kwon Oh-gon. Compared to the quarterfinals, the format was extended to eight rounds of three minutes each, testing both the fighters’ stamina and tactical ability.

In the match between Jo Hyun-jae and Guk Seung-jun, Jo initially took control with quick footwork and a variety of punches. However, Guk turned the tide with relentless aggression and powerful body shots. Even as fatigue set in during the later rounds, Guk, drawing strength from thoughts of his parents, unleashed decisive level changes and body attacks in rounds seven and eight. He secured a 2–1 split decision victory, dedicating his emotional win to the family members who had come to support him.

The other semifinal saw “Pro Killer” Lee Chae-hyun face Kwon Oh-gon. Despite Kwon’s constant pressure, Lee maintained composure, using efficient straight punches and a steady rhythm to control the match. Although Kwon attempted to seize momentum with heavy body attacks from round five onward, Lee preserved his stamina and cleverly turned his opponent’s power against him. Lee ultimately advanced to the final with a unanimous 3–0 decision, dedicating his victory to his late maternal grandfather and his family.

Meanwhile, ahead of the semifinals, a special two-on-two tag match prepared by Kim Jong-kook and Dex added excitement to the broadcast. The bout between Park Young-ho and Park Sung-jun (Team Kim Jong-kook) and Park Sung-woon and Lee Ki-jun (Team Dex) mixed lighthearted moments with serious competition, ending in a victory for Team Dex.

The final episode of I Am Boxer will air on the 23rd at 8:30 p.m.
