Ji Sung has finally become a target.
In Episode 5 of MBC’s Friday–Saturday drama The Judge Returns, airing on the 16th, Lee Han-young (played by Ji Sung), who exposed a military service corruption ledger to the public, is attacked by an unidentified man and placed in a life-threatening situation.
In the previous episode, Lee Han-young shook the judiciary by revealing a ledger that implicated the children of powerful figures in politics and the legal world in a large-scale military service corruption scheme. The document even included the son of a key figure whom Kang Shin-jin (played by Park Hee-soon) had been pushing as the next Chief Justice. With Han-young’s disclosure, the massive plan Shin-jin had carefully orchestrated collapsed in an instant.
Standing at the center of the storm, Han-young ultimately becomes the target of unseen enemies. Newly released stills show him being violently attacked by an unidentified assailant in broad daylight, in the middle of the street, heightening tension. Even after being knocked down, his hand torn and bleeding, Han-young refuses to let go of his bag. His desperate struggle, as if protecting something more important than his own life, draws attention.
The attack does not stop, and the bloody confrontation in broad daylight continues. What is it that Han-young is so determined to protect, and who is the true identity of the assailant targeting him?
As the price for opening the Pandora’s box of the military service corruption ledger, Lee Han-young now faces direct pressure from the dark forces within the judiciary. In a life-or-death crisis where even tomorrow is not guaranteed, all eyes are on what kind of impact his choice of a “head-on breakthrough” will bring.
Episode 5 of MBC’s Friday–Saturday drama The Judge Returns airs on the 16th at 9:50 p.m.
