Ahn Bo-hyun and Cha Seo-won have come face to face over Lee Joo-bin.
In episode 4 of tvN’s Monday–Tuesday drama Spring Fever, aired on the 13th, viewers followed Seon Jae-gyu’s (Ahn Bo-hyun) all-out efforts to win the heart of Yoon Bom (Lee Joo-bin). The episode recorded a nationwide average rating of 5 percent, a peak of 5.9 percent, and a metropolitan peak of 5.7 percent, continuing its upward trend. It also ranked No. 1 across all channels in the same time slot among the 20–49 demographic, maintaining its strong momentum.
The broadcast heightened immersion by revealing the hidden connection between Seon Jae-gyu and Yoon Bom. One year earlier, when Yoon Bom had cut herself off from the world due to false accusations of an affair, Seon Jae-gyu was the only person who reached out to her. Yoon Bom expressed her gratitude, saying, “There is a sense of emotional debt in my subconscious,” but at the same time, she held herself back from moving into a deeper relationship, adding a layer of poignancy.
Seon Jae-gyu, however, did not give up easily. When bees invaded Yoon Bom’s house, he rushed over, transforming from the “youngest son of a chaebol family” into the “youngest son of a chaebol beehive.” His struggle brought laughter to viewers. From removing the beehive to cutting down trees, his fearless actions embodied the essence of a straightforward romance and made his sincerity toward Yoon Bom even clearer.
The complication came with the appearance of Choi Yi-joon (Cha Seo-won). As Yi-joon frequently crossed paths with Yoon Bom, Seon Jae-gyu openly showed his jealousy, and the dynamic between the two men naturally shifted into a rivalry. The stage for that rivalry was set at the Shinsu High School sports festival.
At the sports festival, Seon Jae-gyu and Choi Yi-joon stood as representatives of the Blue Team and the White Team, respectively, as guardians of their children: Seon Jae-gyu as the uncle of Seon Han-gyeol (Jo Jun-young) and Choi Yi-joon as the father of Choi Se-jin (Lee Jae-in). Seon Jae-gyu transformed into a “one-day drill instructor” for the White Team, leading intense physical training, while Choi Yi-joon boosted morale with briefings and snacks, deploying a “brains-over-brawn” strategy. Their contrasting approaches in strength, intellect, and their feelings for Yoon Bom amplified the tension.
A sudden twist arose when Seon Jae-gyu mistakenly believed Yoon Bom had switched to the Blue Team and even declared he would not attend the sports festival. However, once it was revealed that her true team was the White Team, the atmosphere reversed. With Yoon Bom’s call, “White Team, are you ready to win?” the sports festival finally began, signaling the full-scale rivalry between Ahn Bo-hyun and Cha Seo-won for Yoon Bom’s heart.
Episode 5 of tvN’s Monday–Tuesday drama Spring Fever airs on the 19th at 8:50 p.m.
