Actress Kim Seul-gi is set to showcase her distinctive stage presence in the play "French Safe: Who Dares to Climb the North Wall."
"French Safe: Who Dares to Climb the North Wall" is a black comedy that unfolds in the basement of a bank building, depicting the intertwined desires of five bank robbers who gather without even knowing each other’s names. Through witty wordplay and rhythmic dialogue, the play portrays tension and absurdity with sharp humor. The production draws particular attention as director Jang Jin, known for the film "Welcome to Dongmakgol," returns to theater writing and directing for the first time in 11 years since his 2015 stage work "Secret of Flowers."
Kim plays a bank clerk who knows the internal structure of the bank better than anyone else. Standing before the vault, her character reveals growing psychological fractures as personal desire clashes with rational judgment. With her trademark control over pacing and delivery, Kim is expected to lead both tension and laughter throughout the performance.
Kim has consistently built a strong rapport with audiences through diverse stage works, from "In Search of Happiness" to "Secret of Flowers." Beyond theater, she has remained active across multiple platforms. In the drama "Spirit Fingers," she portrayed the character Black Finger, expressing a layered charm that balanced chic coolness and warmth. She also appeared on KBS’s signature variety show "Immortal Songs" in its actors special, where she impressed viewers with her exceptional vocal skills and versatility.
As she continues to establish her own genre with a wide artistic spectrum, attention is focused on the new side Kim Seul-gi will reveal in her upcoming role in "French Safe: Who Dares to Climb the North Wall."
"French Safe: Who Dares to Climb the North Wall" will run from March 7 to May 31 at NOL Seokyeong Square Scone Hall 1 in Daehangno.
