“Surely Tomorrow”: Park Seo-joon and Won Ji-an at the End of Their Third Love… A Deep and Final Conclusion Approaches

뉴스컬처 2026-01-10 12:19:20 신고

The romance between Park Seo-joon and Won Ji-an is finally racing toward its ending. After a long and profound period of waiting, the love they rediscovered now stands at a moment of choice.

In JTBC’s Surely Tomorrow, Lee Gyeong-do (played by Park Seo-joon) and Seo Ji-woo (played by Won Ji-an) portray a love that runs through the core of each other’s lives, drawing viewers deeply into their emotions. Three relationships, two breakups, and a love that has begun once again. At this final stage, their relationship has become more intense than ever.

They encountered each other three times in their lives: in their twenties, at twenty-eight, and again in their late thirties. They once loved passionately, and later loved even more deeply, yet eventually had to let each other go. But this reunion is different. Unfinished feelings and regrets from their past breakups overlap, making Gyeong-do and Ji-woo more honest than ever before. As if determined not to run away anymore, they face their emotions head-on and continue to build their love.

What symbolizes their relationship is the play Waiting for Godot. The performance they staged in their college theater club carried their promise: “If you wait, I will surely come.” Yet through two separations, that promise was repeatedly broken. The one who waits and the one who does not arrive. That misalignment shattered their love.

But Gyeong-do and Ji-woo are different now. Even as the seasons changed again and again, they remained standing in the same place, waiting for each other. This time, they vow not to leave. No longer waiting for Godot, but waiting for each other. Whether that promise can truly be kept has captured viewers’ attention.

The problem lies in a reality that refuses to leave them alone. Gyeong-do wants to protect Ji-woo, and Ji-woo wants to remain by his side despite any criticism. As they choose each other to protect the world of the person they love, another trial is foreshadowed. At the end of episode 10, Ji-woo’s brother-in-law Kang Min-woo (played by Kim Woo-hyung) reveals his scheme to frame them as having an affair in order to seize control of Jarim Apparel. At the same time, scenes suggesting distance growing between Gyeong-do and Ji-woo heighten anxiety.

Will Gyeong-do be able to return to Ji-woo’s side once more? And will Ji-woo be able to hold on to his hand until the very end? At the climax of their third love, the two once again stand before a decisive choice in life.

Attention is focused on what kind of ending their love, carried in their hearts through the passing of time, will reach, and how that choice will reshape their lives.

The fateful romance of Park Seo-joon and Won Ji-an reaches its peak in episode 11 of JTBC’s weekend drama Surely Tomorrow, airing tonight (the 10th) at 10:40 p.m.
