Pyo Ye-jin Steals the Spotlight in “Taxi Driver 3” With Brains, Timing, and Chemistry

Actress Pyo Ye-jin once again shook up the narrative from the very start of the new year.

As SBS’s Friday–Saturday drama “Taxi Driver 3” accelerates toward its latter half, Pyo Ye-jin, who plays genius hacker Ahn Go-eun of Rainbow Transport, has emerged as a driving force, commanding both tension and catharsis while amplifying her presence.

Episodes 13 and 14 of “Taxi Driver 3,” which aired recently, fully showcased Pyo Ye-jin’s signature blend of sweetness and edge. Even as crises piled up without pause, her precise timing for wit and sharp judgment controlled the flow of the story, delivering consecutive moments of exhilaration for viewers.

Ahn Go-eun infiltrated Samheungdo alongside the Rainbow Dark Heroes to assess the situation. While pursuing Choi Sa-jang (Yoo Ji-wang) on a motorcycle, she uncovered a crucial clue that a seafood restaurant was functioning as a logistics hub. However, once her identity was exposed, tension escalated to its peak in an instant.

After overcoming the crisis through Kim Do-gi’s (Lee Je-hoon) quick thinking, the operation moved into full swing. It was here that Ahn Go-eun’s instincts shone. During an unexpected phone call from Kim Do-gi, she immediately deduced the presence of CCTV, deftly avoiding the suspicions of Go Seong-hyeok (Kim Seong-gyu). She also instantly identified a phishing message sent to Choi Ju-im (Jang Hyuk-jin), rescuing the team from danger without hesitation.

She further uncovered that all Samheungdo villains had received non-indictment decisions, grasping how they were tightly interconnected around Go Seong-hyeok. It was a defining moment that revealed the full value of Ahn Go-eun, a character who seamlessly balances composure and playful cunning.

Naturally, the core of the operation shifted toward Ahn Go-eun. Tasked with breaching servers to dismantle overseas criminal franchises, she took charge of the entire process, from securing equipment to bringing down the servers. As the team staged internal conflict to buy time, Ahn Go-eun raised the stakes by even proposing to Go Seong-hyeok that Kim Do-gi be eliminated.

A particularly talked-about moment came when she cleverly delivered the famous line from the film “Decision to Leave,” saying, “At last… am I really that bad?” The line landed with perfect comedic precision amid intense suspense. After disabling the firewall and securing the server, Ahn Go-eun ultimately overturned the game in her own distinctive way, bringing a satisfying close to her revenge.

Pyo Ye-jin demonstrated masterful control of rhythm, heightening razor-sharp tension before placing humor at exactly the right moment. Her performance maximized the appeal of the character and firmly established her as a central axis of “Taxi Driver 3,” adding depth and color to the series.

Previously, Pyo Ye-jin won the Excellence Award in the Miniseries Genre and Action Actress category at the 2025 SBS Drama Awards for her role in “Taxi Driver 3.” These episodes once again proved the weight of that recognition, as she delivered dense, commanding performances that drew viewers deeper into the story.
