The TVING original series Villains is heightening anticipation ahead of the release of Episodes 3 and 4 by capturing the long-awaited reunion of Yoo Ji-tae and Lee Min-jung.
Villains is a super crime action series centered on the tense alliance and collision between J, a genius criminal mastermind, and Han Soo-hyun, the world’s top banknote design artist. The story follows a high-stakes chase involving the National Intelligence Service over “Supernote,” an ultra-precise counterfeit currency.
In Episodes 1 and 2, the Supernote game was set in motion with a counterfeit banknote incident involving a casino dealer. J successfully executed his first plan by infiltrating undercover and swapping counterfeit bills with real ones, only to disappear without a trace. The unexpected death of Yang Do-sa soon followed, delivering a shocking turn. Five years later, J reemerges alongside a mysterious murder case, while Han Soo-hyun’s decision to request personal protection from the NIS marks the beginning of a new phase in the game.
Newly released stills capture J heightening tension as he hands over a black document envelope, as well as Han Soo-hyun undergoing questioning at the NIS. As J appears to be designing yet another major operation following Yang Do-sa’s death, questions grow over what his next plan entails and what secrets Han Soo-hyun has kept hidden over the past five years.
In particular, their reunion at a logistics warehouse radiates a chilling atmosphere. While J greets the moment with a relaxed smile, Han Soo-hyun’s gaze flashes with deep contempt, amplifying the tension between them. Curiosity is mounting over the words exchanged between the two and the hidden intentions beneath the surface.
The production team stated, “As the narrative weaves between past and present, the outline of J’s next plan will gradually be revealed,” adding, “Viewers will experience an increasingly immersive Supernote game.”
Episodes 3 and 4 of Villains will be released today (December 25) at 6 p.m. on TVING. The series is also available via HBO Max across 17 countries and regions in the Asia-Pacific area, as well as on Disney+ Japan.
