Zootopia 2 continued its dominant run at the Korean box office, holding the top spot for the 20th consecutive day.
According to the Korean Film Council’s integrated box office system on December 16, Zootopia 2 attracted 81,924 moviegoers on December 15 alone, maintaining its No. 1 position. Its cumulative audience has now reached 5,452,516.
The film surpassed the 5 million admission mark 20 days faster than this year’s top-grossing hit Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle Arc, and has already exceeded the total performance of its predecessor Zootopia, which recorded 4.71 million admissions.
Zootopia 2 follows the return of fan-favorite duo Judy and Nick as they chase a mysterious snake named Gary, whose actions have thrown the city into chaos. Their pursuit leads them into an unfamiliar new world, where they investigate a dangerous and high-stakes case in this thrilling investigative adventure.
At No. 2 is The People Upstairs, which drew 19,175 viewers in a single day, bringing its cumulative total to 428,419.
The People Upstairs tells an unpredictable story that unfolds when an upstairs couple (Ha Jung-woo and Lee Hanee) and a downstairs couple (Gong Hyo-jin and Kim Dong-wook) end up sharing a late-night meal after a series of unusually disruptive inter-floor noise incidents occurring every night.
JUJUTSU KAISEN: Execution -Shibuya Incident x The Culling Game Begins- climbed to third place after drawing 6,528 viewers, pushing its cumulative audience to 306,570.
The film depicts an epic curse-laden saga centered on the Shibuya Incident, the largest battle in the modern jujutsu world that led to the sealing of Satoru Gojo, followed by the deadly Culling Game, a brutal death match orchestrated by the notorious sorcerer Noritoshi Kamo.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 ranked fourth, attracting 6,159 viewers for the day and reaching a cumulative total of 184,812.
Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 follows the reopening of the original Freddy’s Pizzeria, once shut down amid ominous rumors and urban legends, as animatronics emerge into the outside world and a new nightmare begins.
Rounding out the top five is Wicked: For Good, which drew 5,439 viewers, bringing its cumulative admissions to 932,818.
Wicked: For Good follows the diverging destinies of Elphaba, the so-called wicked witch who no longer fears public judgment, and Glinda, the good witch who fears losing the love of the people, as they seek true friendship amid their intertwined fates.
