LE SSERAFIM Becomes the Only K-pop Act to Enter the U.S. ‘200 Best Songs of 2025’ List

뉴스컬처 2025-12-06 11:10:57 신고

U.S. music outlet Consequence announced its year-end list, ‘The 200 Best Songs of 2025’, revealing that LE SSERAFIM’s album track ‘Come Over’ placed at No. 90.

It is the only song by a Korean artist featured on the list this year, and notably, the only non-title album track to make the cut. The outlet described the song’s structure by stating that “the repetition in ‘Come Over’ feels hypnotic,” emphasizing its addictive atmosphere and distinctive sound.

‘Come Over’ is a track from LE SSERAFIM’s mini 5th album HOT, released in March 2025. J Lloyd and Lydia Kitto of the UK band Jungle participated in the songwriting, composition, and production. The track blends a retro yet dreamy ‘nu-jazz / bossa nova’ style, offering a musical tone that differs from the pop- and dance-centered sound typical of K-pop. This global recognition shows that the group’s focus on musical completeness and sonic experimentation is being acknowledged internationally beyond fandom-driven popularity.

LE SSERAFIM also achieved notable results on various international charts throughout 2025. The same album, HOT, entered the U.S. Billboard 200 chart at No. 9, making LE SSERAFIM the only 4th-generation K-pop girl group to achieve four consecutive Top 10 albums. The group also topped Japan’s Oricon Daily Album Ranking and appeared repeatedly on streaming platform charts and global single charts, further solidifying its stable fanbase and musical presence both domestically and globally.

LE SSERAFIM’s entry into the ‘Best Songs of 2025’ list demonstrates that the group can draw critical attention from global music outlets not only through performance, fandom, and marketing, but also through the quality and stylistic diversity of its music. As the only K-pop act on the list—and with a non-title track—it signals a shift in the broader K-pop landscape toward embracing diverse sonic experimentation beyond traditional title-track conventions. Attention now turns to how other tracks on the HOT album, as well as the group’s future releases, will be received by overseas media and music charts.
