Praise for actor Kim Min-jong continues to grow in the UK.
The UK outlet London Journal evaluated that Kim Min-jong’s expressive eyes and restrained emotional performance in the film "FIRENZE" transcend language barriers and resonate deeply with middle-aged audiences. The outlet reported that he once again demonstrated what it means to set the standard for mature acting.
According to the London Journal article, reels from "FIRENZE" have already surpassed 130 million views on social media, noting that Kim Min-jong has captivated even the UK's middle-aged and older audiences. The outlet especially praised Kim, calling him "an actor whose emotions flow before words."
The article also highlighted reasons Kim Min-jong has long been trusted in Korea: his sincerity on set, his respectful attitude toward colleagues and staff, and his mature approach to each project. These qualities, they wrote, have made him "an actor who embodies the dignity of middle age."
It further analyzed that the message delivered by "FIRENZE" — "a paused moment is also preparation for walking again" — aligns with the loneliness currently experienced by the UK's middle-aged demographic, generating strong emotional resonance.
The London Journal emphasized that "it is highly unusual to gain this level of attention from UK audiences solely through pre-release screenings and short-form videos," underscoring both Kim Min-jong’s appeal and the quiet but strong reach of "FIRENZE."
Currently, reels from "FIRENZE" continue to spread across Asia and into the UK, earning the film recognition as "a new possibility for emotionally driven films centered on mature audiences."
"FIRENZE" will be released in Korea on January 7, 2026.
