The film “Project Y,” starring Han So-hee and Jun Jong-seo, has confirmed its release date for January 21.
“Project Y” follows the story of Mi-seon and Do-kyung, who dream of a different tomorrow while living in the middle of a glamorous city, and whose lives begin to veer dangerously after they steal black money and gold bars at the edge of desperation.
The film stars Han So-hee, Jun Jong-seo, Kim Shin-rok, Jung Young-joo, Lee Jae-kyun, YooA, and Kim Sung-cheol. First unveiled in the “Special Presentation” section at the 50th Toronto International Film Festival, it later received an official invitation to the 30th Busan International Film Festival and won Best Picture at the 10th London East Asia Film Festival, gaining global attention through domestic and international screenings.
The chemistry between Han So-hee and Jun Jong-seo, combined with powerful performances from Kim Shin-rok, Jung Young-joo, and Kim Sung-cheol, creates a trusted lineup that captivates audiences. Added to this is the fresh energy of Lee Jae-kyun and YooA, further elevating expectations with dynamic and diverse casting.
In the newly released character posters, seven characters with intense and distinct personalities appear along with lines that reveal their traits. Mi-seon (Han So-hee), seen running in a glamorous fur jacket, exposes the danger she faces with the line “If this goes wrong, we could really die.” Do-kyung’s strong presence in the cold night street is paired with “You only get one shot at life, so you better go hard,” indicating a risky choice made alongside Mi-seon to overturn their lives.
Gayeong (Kim Shin-rok) arrives with a sharp gaze and the line “Looks like you caused a big mess,” while Hwangso (Jung Young-joo) radiates charisma through the threatening line “Hold on tight to your lifeline.” Seok-goo (Lee Jae-kyun) shows a cocky attitude with “You should act according to reality, don’t you think?”, and Hakyung (YooA) provokes curiosity with the chilling line “Wake up. I’m your master.”
Lastly, Tosajang (Kim Sung-cheol) raises expectations for the fast-paced and suspenseful development ahead with the concise but powerful line “It’s time to end this.”
