Actor Jung Woo-sung made a notable appearance in Hong Kong to promote Disney+’s Made in Korea, marking his first project since publicly revealing his child. The “Disney+ Originals Preview 2025” event was held on November 13 at the Cinderella Ballroom inside the Hong Kong Disneyland Hotel’s Conference Center. Alongside co-stars Hyun Bin, Woo Do-hwan, and director Woo Min-ho, Jung received a heartfelt welcome from fans and media alike.
Set against the turbulent backdrop of the 1970s, Made in Korea chronicles the ambitious rise of Baek Ki-tae, a man driven by power and wealth, and the relentless Jang Geon-young, a prosecutor determined to halt his ascent. Their battle unfolds amidst a defining moment that shapes an era.
This series is director Woo Min-ho’s first foray into drama, following a distinguished career with films like Inside Men, The Man Standing Next, and Harbin. Along with Jung Woo-sung and Hyun Bin, the talented cast includes Woo Do-hwan, Won Ji-an, Jo Yeo-jeong, and Jung Sung-il. Produced by Hive Media Corp, known for their gripping productions such as Inside Men and Deliver Us From Evil, the series has already sparked significant anticipation.
Jung embodies Jang Geon-young, a prosecutor whose instincts are as animalistic as his resolve is unyielding. Reflecting on the project, Jung shared, “Building relationships with fellow actors through a shared project is one of the most precious experiences. I am grateful to have worked with such amazing colleagues.”
He revealed, “At first, when offered the role of Jang Geon-young, I doubted if it suited me. I imagined someone more energetic and spirited might be a better fit. But as I understood the character, I found parts of myself I could bring to the role, so I embraced the challenge.”
Made in Korea is set to premiere on November 24, with a second season already reportedly confirmed, promising more gripping drama to come.
