Black Pink Rosé's solo song "APT." ranked third on the U.S. Billboard's main single chart "Hot 100," breaking the record for a K-pop female solo artist.
Billboard announced on the 27th (local time) that Rosé's "Apartment" rose two notches to No. 3. "Apartment," released in October last year, debuted at No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming the first K-pop female solo artist to enter the "Top 10." The third-place record is a feat that breaks the record set by Rosé herself.
In particular, "Apartment" proved its steady popularity by climbing back in the rankings as carols that dominated the top charts at the end of the year were excluded. Billboard revealed that "Apartment" was the first K-pop to top the "Pop Airplay" chart, showing that it is also loved by American radio.
Rosé's record enhances the status of K-pop female solo artists, while also proving K-pop's influence in the global music market once again.
