Idol group TWS (Tuus) once again proved to be the "best rookie of 2024" by achieving three consecutive "half million sellers" with its first single "Last Bell."
According to Hanteo Chart on the 21st, TWS (Shin Yu, Do Hoon, Youngjae, Hanjin, Jihoon, and Kyungmin)'s first single "Last Bell" sold a total of 505,705 copies as of the 20th.
With two mini albums and this single released since their debut in January this year, TWS has set a remarkable record of exceeding 500,000 cumulative sales for each album released. As a result, they have established themselves as the "best rookie of 2024" in name and reality, and the cumulative album sales from January to November are estimated to be about 1.63 million copies (based on the circle chart).
"Last Bell," the first single released on the 25th of last month, achieved remarkable results in domestic and international charts. Upon its comeback, it topped the weekly album charts of Hanteo Chart and Circle Chart, and also topped the "Weekly Single Ranking" and "Weekly Total Single Ranking" released by Japan's Oricon, receiving two awards. In particular, in Japan, sales in the first week of its release increased by about twice compared to its predecessor "SUMMER BEAT!" showing the possibility of expanding global fandom.
TWS is showing its unrivaled presence by being listed on various global year-end accounts. Continuing their long-running success with their debut song "First Meeting Doesn't Go As Planned," they were selected as the Breakout Act of the Year in the 2024 K-pop Yearbook released by Consequence, an American music media outlet. In addition, "First Meeting Doesn't Go As Planned" was also listed on the "2024 Best K-pop Song" list by Billboard in the U.S. and NME in the U.K., recognizing their musicality.
TWS will continue its activities at the end of the year. They will attend various year-end festivals and award ceremonies to wrap up the year 2024 with a spectacular performance. They will participate in major events such as KBS2's "2024 Entertainment Awards," SBS's "2024 Music Awards" on April 25, the 9th Asian Artist Awards" on April 27, MBC's "Song Awards" on January 31 and the 39th Golden Disc Awards on January 4, 2025.
