BTS will return with a new full-length album that emphasizes the strength of the group's complete lineup by excluding individual solo tracks.
On March 4, BigHit Music revealed the tracklist for BTS's fifth studio album "ARIRANG" through the agency's official social media channels.
The most notable aspect of the tracklist is the complete absence of solo songs and the broad creative participation across the group. The album contains 14 tracks including the title song "SWIM", and every track is built solely on the voices of all seven members.
RM is credited on 12 tracks, SUGA on 11 and J-Hope on 10, while vocal-line members Jungkook, Jimin and V also took part across the project. The credits highlight the group's collective musical capability and the synergy of the full lineup.
Global-level production also stands out in the album credits. BTS worked with Grammy-winning producers including Diplo, Ryan Tedder and El Guincho during songwriting sessions held in Los Angeles last summer, elevating the overall sound quality of the project.
According to the agency, the title track "SWIM" is an upbeat alternative pop song that carries the message of calmly swimming through the waves of life at one's own pace. RM handled much of the lyric writing, reinforcing the authenticity of the song.
That message expands into a cohesive narrative across the album. From the opening track "Body to Body," which evokes the energy of performing with a crowd, to "Aliens," "2.0," the reflective "Merry Go Round," and the closing track "Into the Sun," the record traces BTS's past and present in a continuous arc. The structure further heightens global fans' anticipation for the group's renewed full-team activities.
BTS will release the fifth studio album "ARIRANG" worldwide on March 20. The following day, the group plans to stage a large-scale "BTS Comeback Live ARIRANG" event at Gwanghwamun Square, which will be broadcast live globally through Netflix.
