Park Shin-hye’s identity revealed as new allies join mission, slush fund truth becomes next target
Park Shin-hye’s covert operation has reached a decisive turning point. Armed with new allies, her pursuit of illicit funds accelerated, delivering one of the drama’s most electrifying twists to date.
In episode 11 of tvN’s Undercover Miss Hong, which aired February 21, Hong Geum-bo (Park Shin-hye) successfully secured part of Hanmin Securities’ hidden funds. At the same time, she turned her attention toward uncovering the truth behind the mysterious PC communication network known as the “Yeouido Pirates,” long rumored within financial circles.
The operation began with Go Bok-hee (Ha Yoon-kyung), who flawlessly impersonated Executive Song Joo-ran (Park Mi-hyun) and obtained the bank president’s authorization while Kang Nora (Choi Ji-soo) created a diversion. The coordinated maneuver enabled Hong Geum-bo to withdraw the slush funds, marking a calculated victory achieved through precise teamwork rather than simple deception.
Hong Geum-bo later confronted Financial Supervisory Service director Yoon Jae-beom (Kim Won-hae), revealing the emotional burden that drove her forward. Haunted by guilt over the fallen Kim Mi-sook (Kang Chae-young), she found herself sharing an unexpected moment of vulnerability with Yoon, exposing the human fractures beneath the ruthless financial battlefield.
Meanwhile, Shin Jung-woo (Ko Kyung-pyo) and DK Ventures appeared to be advancing without resistance. But suspicion surfaced when posts questioning their relationship appeared on the Yeouido Pirates’ message board. Despite efforts to shut down the site with Oh Deok-gyu’s (Kim Hyung-mook) help, the Pirates escalated the conflict, openly declaring their intent to expose Hanmin Securities’ slush funds.
Hong Geum-bo devised a trap, leaking false classified documents to identify the Pirates’ leader. The bait worked. Albert Oh (Jo Han-gyeol), seeking escape from Yeouido’s monotony, had been secretly operating the network alongside genius hacker Lee Yong-gi (Jang Do-ha). Their alliance combined insider corporate access with advanced technical expertise, creating a formidable underground force.
As pressure mounted, Albert Oh uncovered Hong Geum-bo’s true identity, learning that she was not a rookie in her twenties but a 35-year-old financial regulator operating undercover. The revelation pushed tensions to their peak.
Amid the high-stakes financial war, quieter emotional moments surfaced. Hong Geum-bo celebrated her birthday at her family’s chicken restaurant, joined by Kang Nora, who briefly set aside their conflicts. Their shared memories stirred unresolved emotions, but Hong’s remark that “the street carols are a preview of my birthday” echoed Shin Jung-woo’s past words, reigniting Kang Nora’s suspicions.
The episode closed with the formation of an unexpected dream team. After learning Hong Geum-bo’s secret, Albert Oh and Lee Yong-gi ultimately joined her mission, completing a four-person alliance. With each member contributing distinct skills, anticipation is building over how far they will go in exposing Hanmin Securities’ hidden fortune.
