State-run trade promotion agency holds K-industry showcase event in Viet Nam

SEOUL -- To draw the attention of Viet Nam's business industry during South Korean President Yun Suk-yeol's state visit to Hanoi, KOTRA, a state-run trade promotion agency, held a showcase event to introduce various K-industry products including components, infrastructure, technologies, and agricultural products. Some 100 South Korean companies participated and engaged in a daily average of 540 consulting sessions with Vietnamese buyers.
 
South Korea and Viet Nam are each other's third-largest trade partners with a trade volume of .7 billion in 2022. There are some 8,800 South Korean companies running businesses in Viet Nam where consumers favor South Korean products because of their high quality.
 
KOTRA said that during the showcase event held on June 20 in Hanoi, the accumulated contract pursuit amount reached about million, and the accumulated consulting amount of about 0 million. The contract pursuit amount refers to cases expected to be contracted within one year, while the consulting amount refers to cases expected to be contracted within three years.
 
"We conducted meetings with South Korea's premium consumer goods companies regarding their distribution expansion into Viet Nam's markets and were able to experience their products and services based on superb technology," Nguyen Van Chung, the Product Development Team Leader of Sunhouse Group, a leading household appliances and distribution company in Viet Nam, said.
 
"Through this event, we were able to witness the expansion of cooperation between our two countries, extending beyond the manufacturing sector such as intermediates and components, into the advanced and high-value-added fields of technology and services," KOTRA President Yoo Jung-yeol said.
