DJ DOC member Jeong Jae-yong shared his current situation after his divorce in a recent interview. On the YouTube channel "Special World," he revealed that he came down to Gangneung and is enjoying being unemployed without any problems. He remarked that everything collapsed at once, including financial disputes and conflicts with his bandmates. The biggest problem was losing a friend, he said.
Jeong admitted that he hasn't fully healed from the pain of his divorce, which occurred a few months ago. He explained that he didn't have a choice but to move out of Seoul and stay with his sister and mother in Gangneung. He added that he spent a lot of money, but he's still able to make music or perform if needed.
Jeong, a member of the legendary hip-hop group DJ DOC, married Isia, a member of the girl group Ice, in 2018. Last May, after four years of marriage, they announced their divorce.
Jeong candidly said that the biggest problem in their relationship was him, and that he ended up venting his stress on his wife and daughter unintentionally. He admitted that he didn't have a steady income and poor financial habits, which made things worse. Due to his struggles, he also suffered from insomnia and depression.
Jeong also revealed that his daughter and wife were everything to him, but he had no way to support them financially because he had no income. He said that he was often asked why it was so hard for him to take care of his daughter, but the real answer was that it was just his personality and his shortcomings. He also confessed that he often turned to alcohol to ease his pain.
In the end, Jeong expressed his desire to be able to see his daughter and make things right. He hopes to get back on track and continue making music while taking care of himself mentally and physically.
