The storage and delivery service that connects four subway stations with South Korea's two major airports -- Gimpo International Airport and Incheon International Airport -- was launched on May 22, Seoul Metro said. Users scheduled to take a flight departing at night can send away luggage to an airport so that they can enjoy their tour without having to carry heavy bags.
Anyone can use the service through online reservations online or by visiting T-Luggage centers near subway stations. Online reservations must be made one day ahead. The T-Luggage website currently provides three languages -- English, Chinese, and Japanese. Depending on the size of the items and destinations, the delivery fee ranges from 17,000 won (.9) to 45,000 won. On weekends, the price is about 8,000 won to 14,000 won more expensive than on weekdays due to high demand.
Starting in mid-June, Seoul Metro will allow passengers to use the service at 269 other areas where storage lockers are installed. The state-run will also set up an infrastructure capable of delivering carriers from airports to hotels. According to Incheon International Airport, South Korea's main gateway, an annual average of 62.6 million pieces of luggage is processed at the airport.
