Young artists from around the world are once again setting their sights on New York as the 2026 IYAC Global Youth Art Competition opens its call for entries. More than a traditional art contest, the program is gaining attention as a comprehensive platform that helps emerging artists build their first professional credentials on an international stage.
Organized by MySlide Co., Ltd. and supported by the GSEF Foundation and a New Jersey State Senator, the competition has established a growing global presence. Its credibility is further strengthened by a distinguished panel of judges drawn from the fields of art education and university admissions.
Among the jurors are Dale Clifford, Dean of Academic Affairs at the Savannah College of Art and Design (SCAD) and Chief Reader for AP Art, and Professor Lim Jang-soon of Ewha Womans University. Their evaluations will consider not only technical accomplishment but also creativity, artistic vision, and long-term potential.
Selected finalists will see their works exhibited this August at Detour Gallery in Manhattan's Chelsea district, one of the world's most influential contemporary art hubs. The exhibition offers participants more than the opportunity to win awards; it provides firsthand experience as emerging global artists presenting their work in an international setting. Final winners will also receive a special award presented by a New Jersey State Senator.
The competition further expands its exhibition opportunities through large-scale public displays. Selected winning works will be showcased on digital billboards at COEX K-POP Square and the Parnas Media Tower in Seoul's Samseong-dong district, bringing participants' artwork into the heart of one of Korea's busiest urban centers. Reimagined as media art presentations, the works will reach broader audiences and create new opportunities for public engagement.
The experience extends beyond exhibition and media exposure. All award-winning works included in the final exhibition will be published in the 2026 IYAC Art Book. As an officially registered publication carrying an ISBN, the book serves as a lasting record of participants' achievements. For many young artists, the combination of gallery exhibition, large-scale media presentation, and publication represents a complete professional milestone rather than a single competition result.
"We wanted to create a platform where young people can share their perspectives with the world and grow through each other's creative work," a competition representative said. "We hope that the integration of exhibition, media, and publication experiences will help participants better envision their future artistic paths."
