KATSEYE, the girl group formed by HYBE and Geffen Records, continues to prove unwavering global popularity even amid the dominance of year-end seasonal songs, further solidifying their presence as a global girl group.
According to HYBE and Geffen Records on the 3rd, KATSEYE ranked No.41 on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 (chart dated December 6) with “Gabriela,” a track from their second EP “BEAUTIFUL CHAOS,” successfully remaining on the chart for 19 consecutive weeks.
This achievement follows the strong records set by the fictional idol group HUNTR/X (from “Kpop Demon Hunters”), whose OST tracks “Golden” (23 weeks), “How It’s Done” (22 weeks), and “Takedown” (20 weeks) sustained long chart runs—and marks the longest performance among actual girl groups.
In addition, their chart performance is supported by their ongoing presence on the Billboard 200 for 22 weeks (No.33), strong results on the “Top Album Sales” and “Top Current Album Sales” charts with the EP “BEAUTIFUL CHAOS,” and the resurgence of their first EP “SIS (Soft Is Strong),” which previously entered the Billboard 200 at No.98. Altogether, these indicators reflect KATSEYE’s firmly established global standing.
Meanwhile, KATSEYE has been nominated for two categories at the 68th Grammy Awards, set for February 1 next year: “Best New Artist” and “Best Pop Duo/Group Performance.”
