Jennie, a member of the group BLACKPINK and a global solo artist, has set a new milestone in K-Pop history with her first full-length album, 'Ruby'.
According to the American music magazine Rolling Stone on the 3rd, Jennie's 'Ruby' was included in the 'The 100 Best Albums of 2025' list published on its official website.
'Ruby' secured the 29th spot overall, marking the highest ranking achieved by a K-Pop artist.
Rolling Stone introduced the album as "the most recent installment in the series of solo projects from the four members of BLACKPINK this year." It continued, "'Ruby' heavily relies on ideas that dominated R&B-tinged pop in the 2000s and 2010s, yet modernizes them in sometimes intriguing ways," adding, "Jennie shows an amazing ability to command the center of sweet pop R&B."
Jennie is further solidifying her position as a global star. She was selected as the No. 1 'KOREAN IDOLS OF THE YEAR 2025' by Forbes Korea and participated as the only Korean artist in the global music streaming platform Spotify's 'Spotify Wrapped 2025' campaign.
Notably, 'Ruby' was the only K-Pop solo artist album to be listed on Spotify's year-end chart for 'Best Pop Albums of 2025'. Furthermore, the title track 'like JENNIE' ranked 43rd among the 'Most Streamed Songs of 2025' worldwide, achieving the highest rank among K-Pop female artists' songs released this year.
In addition, 'like JENNIE' ranked 62nd on the Apple Music year-end chart 'Top 100: Global of 2025', setting a record as the first K-Pop solo artist to enter the chart.
