As K-content—from K-pop, K-food, and K-beauty to the Netflix series Squid Game and the animated film Kpop Demon Hunters—continues to take the world by storm, CNN is set to unveil a new multi-platform travel series designed to explore the cultural roots of Korea.
The CNN Original series K-Everything features Tony Award-nominated actor, director, and activist Daniel Dae Kim as both executive producer and host.
Produced by CNN’s Asia Pacific-based global production team, the program is quickly emerging as one of CNN’s most anticipated Original Series of next year.
Daniel Dae Kim, who also served as a voice actor in Kpop Demon Hunters, said, “It has been a privilege to witness Korea’s transformation into a cultural and economic powerhouse,” adding, “I am thrilled to collaborate with CNN to deeply explore and share the unique value of Korea and its culture.”
Spanning four episodes, K-Everything follows Daniel Dae Kim as he explores how Korea has risen to the center of global pop culture—across music, food, TV, and film. From Busan to Seoul, the series traces the cultural roots that shaped modern Korea while featuring appearances from global figures at the forefront of the Korean cultural renaissance.

Daniel Dae Kim has gained international recognition through major productions such as ABC’s Lost, CBS’s Hawaii Five-O, Netflix’s Avatar: The Last Airbender, and Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon. Familiar with filming in Korea, he starred in and executive produced the spy drama Butterfly, filmed entirely in Korea last summer and released on Amazon Prime Video on August 13.
This summer, he also starred in the global Netflix hit Kpop Demon Hunters, contributing to its rise as the platform’s most-watched film ever. Last year, he appeared in David Henry Hwang’s Yellow Face at the Roundabout Theatre, becoming the first Asian American actor to earn a Tony Award nomination for Best Leading Actor in a Play.
As an active producer, Daniel Dae Kim, through his company 3AD, executive produced the successful ABC drama The Good Doctor, as well as the multi-award-winning 2023 IFC documentary Bad Axe.
Widely recognized as an activist, he contributed to the enactment of the Covid-19 Hate Crimes Act through testimony before the U.S. Congress and recently concluded his term as a commissioner for the White House Initiative on Asian Americans, Native Hawaiians, and Pacific Islanders (WHIAANHPI).
K-Everything marks the first collaboration between CNN Originals and the Asia Pacific-based global production team. Executive producers include Daniel Dae Kim, Amy Entelis, Ellana Lee, Katie Hinman, Jon Jensen, and Ryan Smith of CNN Original Series, with sponsorship from Hyundai Motor Company.
